It’s May already.  Hard to believe but it’s true.  I’ve been in the garden almost every day busting my hump to get the yard ready for the Inside Austin Garden Tour in October.  The weather over the past few weeks has been unseasonably warm and humid.  It makes it a bit less enjoyable to be in the garden, but the plants LOVE it.  I’d like to give a shout out to Carole at May Dreams Gardens (http://maydreamsgardens.blogspot.com) for coming up with the idea for Bloom Day.  Now on to the blooms!

Oleander

Oleander

I have several oleanders

Nerium oleander

covered in blooms at the moment.  They’ll continue to bloom throughout the summer.

Ruellia

Ruellia

The dwarf Ruellia

Ruellia tweediana

is in full bloom.

Pomegranate "Wonderful"

Pomegranate "Wonderful"

The pomegranate

Punica granatum ‘Wonderful’

has been covered with blooms for a couple of weeks now and is starting to set fruit.

I’ve been working on this post for a couple of days now trying to get it on here (better late than never y’know).  Somehow by making mistakes I learn how to do new things (albeit by accident).  Somehow this time I managed to make a gallery view of all of the blooms.  I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it again next time, but enjoy the blooms below.  If there is any image that you would like to see closer, just click on it.

Enjoy!
